Loved this product when I first bought it. Adore the fact that my Kindle looks like an old book. However, after having it for a couple years, it is not aging attractively.

It’s essentially thin plastic over fabric. So on the edges, where it has gotten caught on things, it is showing cheap design. Still protects the device well. Still structurally sound. But it’s starting to look more like a junky replica than an old book. For $50, I honestly expected better.

I purchased this exact case when I first got my Kindle in 2012 and I finally replaced it this year, 7 years later. I love this case because the front cover folds back behind the back cover easily. However, within ONE WEEK of receiving my new case it has begun to “peel” — the outside edges are essentially shedding off.I’ve included a picture of my old case, from 2012, and a picture of my new one after about a month of light use. My old case looks *exactly* as it should after 7 years of use — no problems there — however, the new one looks terrible for only a month of use. Really disappointed that my new one isn’t holding up like the old one.

I have bought this case 4 years ago with my kindle classic.Its definitely not the slimmest one its rather bulky but after so many yearsof use I can honestly say its the advantage.I dropped it few times and my kindle survived thanks to the bulky corners of this cover.It has a closing band which helps a lot if your kindle travels inside a backpack with other stuff it just won’t open.The other ones from this series don’t have this feature.Well it’s white not perfectly white after a while,get some stains here and there but still it looks fine maybe got a bit of a greyish tone to it.Inside you have a pocket,small thing but convenient,great to store some bus/ train/plane tickets on the go.And lastly,I just have bought paperwhite 3 and guess what…It fits!So it’s a cover for years and years of use 🙂 In my opinion the white one thanks to its material(like canvas)ages the best from all five cases.

The craftmanship brings down what would have been four stars.

How comr? Because all it takes is for you to drag your fingernail across the surface for the faux, tissue thin leather to rip and flake off, leaving the bare foam/fabric underneath.

The stitching is excellent, the gold foil designs and the inner pocket are all great – while the case is a bit heavy, it is fantastic to hold, giving you the illusion of reading a real hardcopy book.

If only the faux leather covering wasn’t so cheap, I can see myself using this case for years. It is very comfortable to hold, and looks gorgeous! Sadly it can last five minutes, should any blunt or sharp object get pushed into or scraped across the cover. The flaking can easily occur simply by the reader resting the csse against a surface, or your own hands. In my case, the damage began with the corners and the edge where I hold it.

Unless you want to hang onto a case that has rips and fleabites all over it within hours of ordinary use, look elsewhere for a fake book cover.

The edges are peeling up almost all the way around the edge (front and back). Thin, cheap, material that is not durable for everyday use. I bought this a 2-3? years ago and expected it to look better longer. I’ve also tried the covers made of material but they get too dirty and aren’t easily cleaned. I’m now going to try an Etsy shop that uses actual leather…

This cover isn’t the best quality, it’s true. I doubt it will last a year of heavy use (and I use my Kindle a LOT). But it *is* darling. It looks very classy. The elastics are nice and tight, so I don’t foresee them getting slack too soon.The cover stays closed without using the big elastic, so it will stay tighter for longer.There is a pocket on the side, for a spare $20 or an “if lost please return to” card. Last, but not least in my book, this does NOT have the autosleep/wake feature. I don’t like that feature and very few book-style cases don’t have it.All in all, it was well worth the money as far as I’m concerned.

A few years ago I had a Verso case for a previous Kindle and really loved it. This one? Not so much. What I do like about this case is the elastic straps that hold the Kindle in place, nice and secure but also easy to remove if need be. That’s all I like about this particular case.

What is not so appealing is how heavy it is. I expected weight, just not so much. It is also difficult to read one handed because the cover has a weird stiff spine that reminds me of a vertical ditch. Yes, a ditch. My last Verso had a soft spine that was easy to fold back and made reading one handed easy and comfortable. With this one the cover is either too far over or not far enough, there is no “sweet spot”. Trying to read one handed with the cover open but not folded back is also awkward and uncomfortable since it tends to flop around.

There is nothing to hold this cover shut, no magnet or elastic, so when it is closed and laid flat the top cover often extends farther than it should. A dead give away that it isn’t really a book and let’s face it, part of this cover’s appeal is that it is suppose to look like a book right?

My last Verso had actual stitching accenting the outside covers. This one looks like it was glued. Which it must have been because there is no stitching on the outside to hold the brown spine and corner pieces to the blue peacock patterned covers. Major bummer. It also had a chemical smell that took WEEKS to dissipate.

I paid a good chunk of hard earned money for this cover and in the end I laid down even more money to replace it because it was such a disappointment. Save your money and keep looking. You deserve better.

This is a nice cover, not leather as some people in the reviews thought it would be but easy to wipe if it gets anything on it and the pattern is lovely. However what I didn’t realize upon purchase is that when the cover says ‘fits Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle and Kindle Touch that does not include the original Kindle (which was released about a year and a half to two years ago). Perhaps this is me being dense but I just assumed that, from the description, the fitting would include all Kindle models. Not so. Apparently the size of the newer version Kindle is smaller as my slightly larger model doesn’t quite fit the case, leaving either the bottom or top of the machine poking out and ruining the effect, and use, of the cover. I should have looked more carefully at the product dimensions and for that I am to blame but the ‘certified Kindle accessory’ notice gave me a false sense of security on that front. However as my Kindle works perfectly well after all this time and I have no plans on updating it to the newer model it looks like this cover (at the very costly £32) is going back. I am disappointed but that will teach me to read the fine print in future!!!!

Just got my first Kindle and wanted to protect it, rather liked this cover (and similar in the range) and thought I’d give it a go. Not the cheapest cover by any means.

Its arrived and has now been tested. The cover is a fab thing really gives a wow factor. So far it seems well made and a good finish (only time will tell).

Couple of draw-backs. It doesn’t have a clasp so there is a slight danger if you dropped it the front cover would fall open & not protect the unit. Also it is a little bit heavier than many other covers.

If you travel a lot and read standing on the train etc. this may not be the best option.

Update after three years … still a pleasure to use, and shows no sign of wear at all. Elastic still taught, and gold still in place. Leather immaculate. Used every day almost without exception, and has been taken on holiday abroad and to the beach in the UK.

I have to admit I was in 2 minds about buying this based on the other reviews however I am 90% happy with the product which arrived very quickly. The feel is of good enough quality and it looks attractive in a traditionally designed way which is exactly what I was looking for.

I have not had it long enough to be aware of any marks being left on the kindle from the 4 corner fixing straps that others have reported however I think I can cope with the eventuality of that given any resell value will be minimal anyway.

So thE reason why I am not giving 5 stars is that

1. It does not have a locking strap to keep the cover closed when not in use – a simple button / popper to keep it closed would be perfect; and
2. It is a little bulky .. I am picking here but I think just 1cm smaller would make it less bulky.

Would I buy again .. ProbAbly, if it had the closing strap.

it has a slim pocket – so if getting on a bus, or train or some where u have ur ticket, or information right there no hassle.
it keeps what ur reading to ur self – so if reading 50 shades of grey. then the ONLY person with a smirk, guilty smile is urself 😀 …
